EVEN THIS mosque is NOT original.

It WAS built by demolishing anyone else’s faith.

It was originally Buddhist. Was destroyed by Sikandar Butshikan & converted into Mosque.

Even until 1960, Buddhists used to come all the way from Ladakh to pay obeisance to this shrine.
The Jamia mosque was originally known as Tarapida temple as it was built by ancient Hindu King Tarapida of Kashmir (c.700 CE).

The temple was scared to Shaivites and Buddhists.

Sikandar Butshikan destroyed the temple and built Jamia Masjid using the remains of demolished temple
