So boring, you could spend an entire weekend not once thinking of the President, relax an entire Friday night not puzzling over what constitutional outrage will occur at 10 pm as you’re trying to head to bed, and never once wake up with dread because he tweeted before 7 am....
You’d be sitting around, realizing it’d been days since you heard about what the President was doing—he’d just filled the govt with competant people and left you alone—and you’d check in and, surprise!, he’s just still posting videos about his shades and his ‘Vette.
Later, having dinner with your family, an entire meal would pass where no one said, “Did you see that tweet!?” You’d talk about sports and music. That evening, you’d have to listen to a Renaissance philosophy podcast because Twitter was so quiet and there no impending doom.
The next night, your partner would do the crossword while you read Karl Knausgaard—there were after all no juicy tell-alls from the Biden White House in sight—and your partner would say, “Who is the Secretary of State these days? We hear so little from them I can’t remember.”
And you’d say, “Honey, I have no idea.” Then you push up off the couch and walk down to the taco truck that had been installed by federal law on your corner—and every US street corner—on the first day of the Biden administration for a late night snack. /END
