Bike thief - do you know him?
A resident on IoD sent me a bunch of videos of a bike theft, around 6am yesterday, 3 bike stolen
Does show how bikes are stolen so you may wish to take precautions in own building

27th April I asked for detail of COVID budget impact, still waiting for an answer
23rd June - similar request rejected
2nd July - submitted FOI asking for COVID costs, still waiting for an answer
27th July - submitted O&S question about COVID costs, still waiting for an answer

So the Council is asking me to believe that net additional impact of COVID = £30 million
I will believe it when I see some evidence
I may be willing to believe that when you add in other non-COVID issues: savings not achieved, previous years budget overruns + COVID maybe £30m

But avoiding answering my questions on 4 separate occasions over 4 months suggests there is something to hide?
I think government funding will cover most COVID costs, most direct income loss i.e. parking
Budget risk come from loss of business rates & Council tax over long term

Enjoy reading, governments White paper to reform the planning system "will replace the entire corpus of plan-making law", so although elements remain, huge changes proposed
A lot of the press comments must have been written before this was published

Some of the content is driven by problems in other areas i.e. no Local Plans in many areas (we are on our 2nd), Duty to Co-operate problems, again elsewhere
I am only half way through, lots of things I like, like emphasis on technology but not clear yet how other bits work

But this is the start of a long process, 12 weeks of consultation, then legislation so realistically it will be years before it has an impact & MHCLG say they will issue more guidance, templates and examples over time

Petition to delay parking change due 1st September until after a proper debate & opportunity to ask questions

Recently on Council website appeared with no consultation changes to the parking rule, it was a surprise, had not been discussed anywhere & even now some details are unclear and there is no opportunity to ask questions in a public meeting before go-live
Petition asks for delay

Petition does not necessarily mean a relaxation of parking rules but says need a proper debate on parking 1st
I still think we need to extend parking hours until later in the evening in return for more free tickets but also a review of parking permits issued based on
