He told states to set up a “lost wages assistance program” in coordination with FEMA, DHS and DOL and it’s gonna be a dang mess

My guess is state workforce agencies are going to have a hard time with this.

They struggled mightily just to implement laws without having to dive into the couch cushions to pay for it

States begged and pleaded with Congress not to make them adjust dollar amounts on benefits, saying it would take weeks or months to implement such changes.

Now they’re being asked to create what appears to be a new payment system from scratch.

In 2011. Florida Republicans lead by now-senator Rick Scott endeavored to create the worst, most unresponsive and least generous unemployment insurance system in the country.

Heard from a few people who usually don't file tax returns that they can't get through online tax forms due to all the zeroes on their Form 1040s.

Tax prep firms say they're working with the IRS on a fix.

Democrats say they're "inundated" with calls from seniors and are asking Treasury to waive the tax return requirement for corona rebate payments.
