Here's a poem I wrote. Hope you all enjoy. Part 1/4

A life of young memories..
So extremely distant.

Fading away from all I once knew as truth.

The smells of familiar and the taste too

The voices clatter throughout

I am gently greeted by a small soul

Part 2/4

She walks up to me, takes my hand

"Come I need to show you my art work and my project I did very well on."

Her hand cold
it touches mine

She directs me to a classroom

She goes in
I open the door

I follow her

Desks are out of line

Part 3/4

not the way my mind remembers them to be.

"Come on its hanging up..."

Leading me near the front of the room
She points to the tattered butterfly finger painting.

"..See I made it just for you...Aren't you proud?..."

I reach for the paper it crumbles into ash.

Part 4/4

"Isn't so pretty? I even used all your favorite colors and this little flower you are sitting on is me with my favorite color..."

Confused though not letting  a speck of ash drift away

"You like it right?!.."

She began to whimper

"Oh, yes! Its your best yet.

Part 5

I love it"

She hugged me

"Hey...Want to play hide and go seek? You won't find me I won't let you...I'm silly that way"

Agreeing to her request
I spin around for 10 seconds.

"7, 8, 9, 10. Ready or not here I come!"

I look around the room and then down the halls

Part 6

Still no sign.

After looking for two hours I decided to give up.

"Ok, wow you are good I can't find you! I give up!"

No response

"Come out now my turn..?"

Silence

I leave and go back home

After the pain of memories I lie down to sleep in a puddle of my tears

Part 7

Drifting away I hear a quiet voice

"Did you miss me? You looked so hard for me good job..but I still am the best!"

I reach for her..she is no longer cold we feel the same

She smiles towards me

"Ok! Your turn I'll count now..1, 2, 3,..."
