"We’ve seen leagues like the NBA that have done well... But for our situation they’re not trying to do the same thing. And that’s all we want. We want to be in a safe situation." 🔥🎯 @BiG_EZ7 of @UCLAFootball / #WeWantToPlay (w/ conditions)
Really glad to see neither @UCLAFootball HC Chip Kelly nor AD @MartinJarmond is pushing the BS we are hearing from Harbaugh Frost and others putting college football over the safety/well-being of student athletes as human beings. #GoBruins
No surprise - it's the WHITE college football headcoaches who are clamoring to have kids play football the loudest
Nebraska Cornhuskers are really determined to have a sub .500 season
Clearly all those (mostly white) coaches who get paid millions per year are not that worried about what happens to student athletes putting their bodies on the lines for those coaches' paychecks. If they did they'd take into account Covid dangers like this
Do the right thing Pac-12. Make decisions based on science (and more importantly empathy for your student athletes, fellow students as human beings and concern for their well being)

No surprise that Manchin backstabbed the Democrats again.

Surprised that there were people idiotic and delusional enough to think Manchin was gonna deal w Democrats in good faith on climate. LOL 🤡s washingtonpost.com/us-policy/2022…
I cannot believe people and organizations get paid serious money to operate with the theory - that Joe Manchin is a rational political actor who deals with Democrats in good faith on climate. 🤡🤡🤡s
Indeed. Manchin operated the way he did - in bad faith - because neither Biden nor Schumer ever made any serious attempt to exact accountability. What happens when you have a party with leaders who are weak, hapless, and just afraid to fight. #timeforachange.

“Go back to India, I’m going to kill you,” - 48 yr old man outside Rep. Jayapal's house in Seattle w/ a .40 caliber handgun.

Shouldn't cable nets elite DC press give this story the same attention they gave for Kavanaugh missing his chocolate mousse? seattletimes.com/seattle-news/l… ImageImage
Powerful statement of solidarity from @waisn_org in solidarity with @RepJayapal tonight:
A key point considering the news environment we currently live in.

Joe Biden has never cared about abortion rights. He has been against it most of his life and has been paying lip service to it from his national perch.

When actions speak louder than words. huffpost.com/entry/chad-mer…
Good to see Democrats with national platforms calling it like it is.

Three Republican Sens - Cruz, Blackburn, Graham (who the beltway likes to hold up as a serious good faith political actor) attended a fascist political event in which Trump showered Putin with glowing praise on the night he began invading Ukraine.

Why isn’t this a bigger story?
How can the American media elite let someone like @LindseyGrahamSC get away with hobnobbing with a Putin loving traitor while also presenting himself as some kind of serious political actor who gets to have a say who a Democratic President nominates for SCOTUS?
Democratic Leaders need to stop appealing to Republicans to listen to their better angels or something. They won’t. They have clearly shown they are with fascists - call them out as what they are - bad people - traitors.

The tributes, memories re Sen. Reid have been pouring in. I am not going to pretend to try share something coherent b/c I am in a funk. But, there is something I think is worth establishing on this website - what a VISIONARY HMR was when it came to progressive tech/comms. (1/)
Sen. Reid became the minority leader at one of the lowest points of Dem party after being left in ashes following the elections of 2004. But, he and his CoS the brilliant @susanmccue had a very specific plan to go to war against the Bush presidency. (2/)
HMR empowered McCue 2 create the first modern "multi-channel" war-room (before the concepts of digital media had even emerged) by bringing in @AriRabinHavt - who understood going to battle against Rs was lot more than just about deploying shiny tools but leading w substance (3/)

Forever my Leader. ❤️ you to pieces HMR. #TeamReid always and forever.
Politics is filled w leaders & their lackies who are bunch of self promoters. I don’t need to share stories to show my loyalty to HMR or how I close was to him. He was my extended family. I loved Reid unconditionally & I know the feeling was mutual. This hurts beyond words.
It’s going to be hard to fall asleep this evening. Truth is it’s been hard for days. What I am trying to hang on to his not just HMR’s relentless tenacity, distaste for BS but his emphasis on decency, loyalty, good faith, kindness for those who were in the trenches. He was real.
