And now, a few words from @nedsegal speaking at the the @Oppenheimer Virtual Technology, Internet & Communications Conference. #OpcoTech2020
We're really proud of the mDAU growth that we've delivered and the trajectory that it represents. And I think this is a bunch of things. One is steady and consistent product improvements. #OpcoTech2020
Second we've made a lot of progress in gearing Twitter more towards topics and events. Last, as people changed their habits back in March under SIP, we saw a big surge in usage on Twitter.

Sports are a terrific use case for Twitter. We're a wonderful complement to watching a game. As these events come back -- w/ our larger audience, better ad formats + better creativity -- we feel like we're in a position to deliver even better than we were last yr.
#OpcoTech2020
There's a steady flow of improvements that you'll see from us as we cont. down this direct response path. It will ultimately lead to better + completely redone MAP format. We're going to keep moving all the way down the funnel until you can buy something on Twitter.

The ad server rebuild is really foundational. If we have modern technology, if it's created in a modular way, we can move faster. We can test more things. We can attract great people who want to work on this newer technology + also frees people up to do other work.

We still have work to do to better understand IDFA impact before we can quantify it and articulate it. We're thinking through it now...
#OpcoTech2020
...Because we typically have been more focused on brand vs DR, this probably has more impact on our roadmap than it does on our existing business. #OpcoTech2020
We know there’s a lot of opportunity with SMB because there are millions of small businesses that have a presence on Twitter. #OpcoTech2020
We have product work that we need to do, that we've recently staffed, that we've long seen as an opportunity, but we knew that we had to get through some other things first that we think ought to bear fruit over time. #OpcoTech2020
We’re early in assessing subscription opportunities. But we recognize that it's really important for the durability of our business that we have non-ad revenue streams... #OpcoTech2020
...We don't feel constrained when we think about these opportunities, and I wouldn't want you to think so either. #OpcoTech2020
We have really robust and thoughtful conversations with our Board, and it's great to have three new voices there who bring different and complementary expertise to what the other folks bring to the conversations that we've had.
#OpcoTech2020
There still is opportunity for us around onboarding generally. One of the challenges we sometimes face is we want to make sure that when we do put something into the onboarding flow, that it's really good...
#OpcoTech2020
...We would much rather be patient and get these things right than get people into a timeline that is less relevant, which is more likely to cause them to not make Twitter a part of their daily lives. #OpcoTech2020
There's lots of interest from publishers or content owners in leveraging Twitter to connect with their next customer. #OpcoTech2020
With a larger audience, in an environment where there isn't a stadium full of fans, where paywalls are challenged + existing structures pre COVID-19 are being rethought, we're in the middle of convos w/ content owners about how they can best leverage their content. #OpcoTech2020
