The NBI Death Investigation Division files cases of kidnapping, serious illegal detention with murder, and planting of evidence against the San Jose Del Monte Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
In February 14-18, 2020; the San Jose del Monte PNP Drug Enforcement Unit allegedly conducted three separate buybust operations wherein six drug suspects were killed.
According to the police, in all three buybust operations, the suspects resisted arrest and used their pistols. The police claimed that they had to return fire to defend themselves, which led to the deaths of the drug suspects.
The NBI’s investigation showed that the buybust operations were fabricated. The victims were allegedly kidnapped by the police, handcuffed, blindfolded and detained inside the police station as shown in this picture.
Note that the victims were still wearing the same clothes when they were detained in the police station, and after the alleged buybust operation where they allegedly fought against the police.
The NBI also questioned the firearms and drugs recovered by the police in the buybust operations. The NBI believes that these items were planted to make it appear that the drug operations were legitimate.
The relatives of the victims initially thought that the victims were just missing, and sought help from the San Jose del Monte Police. The police allegedly told them to check funeral parlors and other police stations. Their relatives later showed up dead in the drug busts.
They later realized, during the NBI’s investigation, that some of the victims were still detained alive inside the police station, when they were looking for them. The families vow to seek justice against the police so that extra judicial killings will stop in Bulacan.
The NBI Death Investigation Division is also investigating other drug related deaths in Bulacan, in light of the findings they uncovered in the three buybust operations.
The NBI sent subpoeanas to the chief and the members of the drug enforcement unit, but they refused to cooperate in the investigation. The chief of the San Jose del Monte PNP refused to give a comment on the cases filed by the NBI.
To those who were asking, here’s my report that aired on TV Patrrol.
