Without revealing any so-called 'classified information', I'm going to make a prediction: pretty soon it will transpire that Senior Defence leadership had, all along, possesed both drone and helmet cam footage of the 'war crimes', so the day they were committed..1/
And that this whole "whispers leading to 'Crompvoets' leading to 'Brereton' to 'Irvine' to ' Frame' Inquires was a sham 'strategic communications strategy' to make the soldiers snitch on each other, in order that the Senior Leadership could avoid doing the dirty work...
While murders can be never be condoned, they were the actions of hard and damaged men desperately trying to win a war that was gradually liking them literally and inwardly, year after year, tour after tour.
Whatever one things of the soldiers, one thing is certain, their so-called leadership was anything but: it was a shameful tawdry act of self- preservation. The soldiers have some excuse the leadership has none.
The result of the sick pantomime is a destruction of the very fibre of the Defence Force, turning soldier against soldier, while the Generals line up for the annual Australia Day awards, and post Defence jobs.
I call upon the people of Australia to urge the government to ensure that before a single soldier is put on trial for what they did on the battlefield, that those who stage managed the lies and 'revelations' to the Australian public are similarly put under the microscope. Fair?
Generals Hurley, Morrison, Campbell, and SECDEF Richardson need to face the Australian public, and categorically deny that they did not know that 'war crimes' were recorded on their own camera equipment, and surevillance before Samantha Crumpvoets 'surprised them' by her report.
Nor should we accept the old "we can't speak on matters under investigation"' excuse. Nonsense. They lost that excuse when 'brave General Morrrison did his amazing 'Get Out!' speech, and answered numerous questions...in a "matter still under investigation". Why not this time?
It won't 'prejudice' the trials, nor will anyone be 'defamed' by such action.. except maybe themselves. . Defence Leadership have one legal excuse only not to tell the truth 'the privilege against self-incrimination'. If they claim that, we can take it from there.
Never has Australia been so disgraced internationally by such conduct, even the bugging of East Timor pales in comparison. And it's not the soldiers, but the spineless individuals who threw them under a bus to save themselves
Over to you Minister, and General Campbell. Deny it.
