I would guess this is a) due to their generally higher rate of A's in the first place, and b) because they're more likely to have smaller class sizes, and thus escape the statistical moderation process.

I think it's worth adding here that Ofqual (and SQA & the others) have been set a basically impossible task. There is just no way of giving out grades on this basis that won't generate cases of extreme unfairness for individuals.
It's also worth highlighting that the level of downgrading in the results of lower socio-economic groups appears from Ofqual's data to be less stark than that in Scotland last week:
