1/6 - Today PM Shri @narendramodi ji launched an important initiative - Transparent Taxation Platform.

I'll highlight its key points, as taxation is an issue we ALL should be educated about.

There exists a problem: Of 130 Cr Indians, only ~1.5 Cr pay taxes!

@narendramodi ji rightly said that to build an #AtmaNirbharBharat, more of us need to pay our fair share... That's where #TaxReforms help!

The #TransparentTaxation platform is designed to make taxpaying seamless, painless, faceless. Its components are:

A) Faceless Assessments
B) Faceless Appeals
C) Taxpayers' Charter

A) Faceless Assessments:

No physical contact between the assessor & taxpayer, selection to be automated through AI.

Draft assessment order, review & finalisation will be in 3 different cities!

B) Faceless Appeals:

There will be total transparency, as appeals will be randomly allotted pan-India to officers whose identity will be unknown.

Moreover, appellate decision will be team-based + reviewed!

C) Taxpayers' Charter:

It is a list of rights / duties of taxpayers, eg:

RIGHTS: Appeal/Review Mechanism, Privacy, Fairness etc.
DUTIES: Honesty, Compliance, Timeliness etc.
