Something I really want to encourage everyone do right now. Check in with your:

1. Secretary of State (nass.org) and ask how they'll address mail delays.

2. Same goes for your local county registrar of voters. Will they offer more drop-off locations?
Voting drop-off locations are typically municipal locals - libraries, city hall, schools, churches. (ocvote.com/voting/voting-…)

Ballots are picked up by county officials, so you don't have to worry about it going through the mail.

Can your registrar increase the # to compensate?
Can you also ask your local officials what they'll do to work with the local registrar to ensure additional locations?

E.g. Can they allocate additional funding to ensure that drop-off boxes can be added to neighborhoods that will be disproportionately impacted by mail delays?
And can you also ask those officials to work w/ the registrar to ensure those drop-off boxes are dropped off *earlier* than normal, so people can drop off their ballots early?

Basically, we need to move up our voting timelines, and how we think of voting.
I keep seeing @tedlieu tweet we need to start turning in/mailing in ballots by the third week of October, and I 100% agree.

We should absolutely keep focusing on trying to save the USPS. This is not up for debate.

But if we've learned anything in the last four years, it's contingency plans. We need to start thinking of how to vote NOW, including planning out our schedules earlier than usual.
