I have always loved the profile of Gabriel. The perfect characteristics of a modern day center half and a great compliment to Saliba. If this goes through I’ll be over the moon. He may not start immediately, but it would be a tremendous addition 🇧🇷
#AheadOfTheCurve

Still new around here so it’s hard to be too ahead. As we move into the future I’m excited to continue to try to identify talent 👍🏼🇧🇷
Also I recognize this deal is nowhere near complete and he very well may choose to go to Napoli. The coming hours are crucial but I am optimistic!

THREAD: Meet Oleksandr “Oleksy” Zinchenko. A deep dive into the story of Arsenal’s imminent signing.

A journey around the world and “one of the top 3 technical players in the city squad” Image
Oleksandr was born in December 1996 in the Ukrainian city of Radomyshl. At age 8, he joined Karpatiya Radomyshl, a youth club that gave him the stage to lay his career foundation. Image
In 2010 Zinchenko joined the Shakhtar Donetsk academy. At first, he saw this as a strong move for himself but he struggle to break into the first team and the club exiled him due to contract issues. Image

A Thread: In the grand scheme of things drawing good teams in cup competitions may be a blessing in disguise.
Mikel Arteta has showcased his desire to win every match in every competition since coming to the club. This is key for instilling a winning mindset in our players.
The truth is this is a project and while we have ambitious goals for the future, the end goal is something that we will be building towards This season helps begin to build that winning mentality.

My predicted lineup for the opening day of the season @ FulhamFC

Auba Eddie Pepe

Tierney Xhaka Ceballos AMN

Gabriel-Luiz-Saliba

Leno
I may mute this because there will be a lot of controversy over this.. but I think this is what we will start out with for the first game.
If Ceballos has to quarantine then it’ll be the main man Elneny

Assuming Gabriel is signed, but there are no other incomings or outgoings.. what would be your team for the opening match?

The rebuild this summer is advertised to be may carry into the season.. my team below.
Martinez
Bellerin
Saliba
Luiz
Tierney
Xhaka
Torreira (sold?)
Willock
Pepe
Laca
Auba

My point is that this team is worse than the one that won the FA Cup. If Arsenal want to become more competitive in the league this year the business needs to be wrapped up quickly.
We keep talking about all of these incredible signings that we COULD make.. the start of the season for Arsenal has some very difficult fixtures. With quarantine measures we need to get these deals done before we find ourselves where we were last year.

Mini Thread: I believe it is a matter of time before Thomas Partey is an Arsenal player.
Our main midfielders last season included Guendouzi, Xhaka, Ceballos, and Torreira. Of these players listed, Ceballos is with Real Madrid and Arsenal are trying to sell Torreira and Guendouzi.
With these players seemingly on the way out, we must replace them with another midfielder. Thomas Partey and Aouar have been the only midfielders there have been concrete links for.

A THREAD: Edu Gaspar has gone from a recently appointed technical director to the forefront of Mikel Arteta’s rebuild. Get to know a bit about Edu, his perspectives on football, and how his personality may help shape the future of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Edu was a member of the Arsenal Invincibles. He enjoyed a strong playing career playing for Corinthians, Arsenal, and Valencia. Edu was also a part of the Brazil team that won the 03/04 Copa America for Brazil.
After retiring from football in 2010, Edu took the role of Director of Football at Corinthians, his boyhood club. During his tenure, Corinthians won 2 league titles, the Recopa Sudamericana, Copa Libertadores, and Club World Cup. This built his reputation as a director in Brazil.
