With professionals like this working in this industry, how does anyone else wonder why fewer and fewer people want to give their hard-earned money to people who treat the consumerbase like this?

Let's break this down: 1/12
So if your country isn't a profitable enough region to bring anime over at scale, you don't deserve anime. Even if you have the means to pay for it.

Also, it's not "specifically not available." It wasn't a deliberate decision not to bring it to X show to Y country. 2/12
This is 100% gatekeeping. The bad kind of gatekeeping. What justification is there for shaming people for not paying inflated prices for OOP releases?

Collectors do that. Not everyone is a collector.

Are we supporting "the industry" or are we supporting eBay sellers? 3/12
Fair point. Though shaming kids for not having their own money is a low blow, especially in this economy. 4/12
And here we get to the culmination of the previous paradigm.

What did that one woman on Twitch say? "If you can't afford to sub, but you have time to watch Twitch, then you should be working to make more money instead?"

Should poor people not have comfortable lives? 5/12
Is the anime industry in such dire straits that we cannot bear the presence of any freeloaders, at all?

I've easily bought more than my fair share of anime products. I'm incredibly blessed to be able to do that.

Not everyone is so fortunate, but they, too, deserve anime. 6/12
I don't know everyone's situation, nor have I any right to demand they spend money if they can't.

If you're struggling to make ends meet, do you. And then when you're home, tired from hustling all day, watch some Amagami SS.

However you go about doing that. You deserve it. 7/12
Continuing:
Fair point, though certain anime subscription services could stand to improve their ad delivery so it doesn't also break the core function of their service.

But that's none of my business. I don't subscribe to those services. I don't buy bad products. 8/12
Make access to the show something I want to pay for and we're golden. HIDIVE does that. Why can't CR or Funi?

Clearly I have no problem paying for products. But I have to want the product first. What about CR or Funi am I supposed to want? 9/12
Some of us don't want "accessible and relevant" dubs. Especially ones that directly take shots at the show's audiences.

You can't make a product people don't want to buy and then try and shame people into buying it.

That's a peanut-brain marketing move. 10/12
I don't "support" the industry. I don't "support" Sentai or HIDIVE or Nozomi or Good Smile Company or Alter or Kotobukiya or any of these companies that make the things I own.

I'm a consumer. In a market. I buy products I want. If I don't want a product, I don't buy it. 11/12
If you want me to buy your product, make me want your product.

Telling me I'm an "asshole" for not wanting your product makes me NEVER want to buy your products.

Anime is a business. Anime is a market. Treat it as such.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk. 12/12
Didn't do this last time a tweet of mine did well, so here goes.
