[Thread] Unity, the sin of the Khawarij, and saving yourself from the brink of the fire (of hell)

It is said that the reason why Muslims don't follow the Quranic obligation to unite is a 'problem of Iman' (belief). This is true, but not in the way many Muslims believe it to be..
In this time of mental jahiliyah, the Muslim world has been overcome with a shallowness of thought. Therefore, many are unable to understand why they suffer the many ills that befall the Muslims. This is best explained with the concept of 'iman' and the obligation of unity.
Iman is translated usually as 'belief', but many Muslims often misunderstand the classical works on 'iman' and believe it ONLY means something like 'taqwa' (the emotional level of fear one has for God at any one moment). Consequently, many Muslims believe 'Iman' can go up & down
However, unless suffering doutbts, it would be ridiculous to assert that ones belief in God goes 'up and down' such that someone believes in him, then disbelieves in him the next moment. in its most used sense, 'iman' simply means what one believes in to be true and right.
The case is that the lack of Unity amongst Muslims IS a problem with IMAN. Not because many Muslims have low taqwa, but because while they support the generally abstract sentiment of 'unity', they actually *disbelieve* in it.

How is that so?
The disbelief that some Muslims hold against the Quranic command to be united, is revealed when the command is taken practically: Do *ALL* Arab Muslims want to unite with Persians? Do all Kurds want to unite with Turks? Do all Bengalis want to unite with Pakistanis?...
Whenever the command to unity is discussed in practice, many Muslims bring up old feuds, or claim the other is arrogant, or claim that the other is lowly, or of bad morals etc etc as reasons NOT to be united with them.

But the Quranic command DOESN'T make such exceptions
Furthermore, the Prophet Muhammed ﷺ taught that anyone who has even an atom's weight of pride will not enter paradise. And pride was defined as including the looking down on other people (As well as rejecting the truth).
Put simply, many Muslims today simply don't believe in the command to unity except to affirm a general sentiment. This is much like Christians who say they believe in One God, but attribute to he is comprised of three persons each with infinite power.
The real sin of the Khawarij was that they split from their fellow Muslims because they deemed their fellow Muslims lacking in some characteristic. They then split from the Jamaah (main body) because of this.

Anyone who remains split, making the same excuses, is no different
Despite 100 years of blood feud, the Aws and Khazraj embraced Islam and ended their differences and united on Islam.

Any Muslims today not believing they *should* do the same with every ethnic/national/madhab group of Muslims, simply doesn't believe in the Quranic command.
For all the talk of the need for 'perfecting Iman of Muslims', this is one such Iman they neglect. And it is an Iman whose failure to be believed by a Muslim, may lead them to Hell.

Let us not be like the Khawarij, and let us unite with eachother -despite all our personal faults
