Abuja-Kaduna Train Attack: Humanitarian Minister Sympathizes With Victims
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Sadiya Umar Farouq has sent condolences to families and victims of the Abuja-Kaduna bound train which was attacked on
Monday by unknown gunmen at Dutse Forest, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The Minister, who directed the immediate deployment of the
NEMA Northwest Zonal Office team to visit the scene of the Train attack as well as the victims, described the incident as horrific
“My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the attack. May God console and strengthen them at this time of grief. I also pray for the wounded and hospitalized persons who sustained various degrees of injuries, that they recover quickly”.
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT INTER-MINISTERIAL MEETING TO DEVELOP NATIONAL FLOOD RESPONSE PLAN
At the end of the meeting which was attended by seven Ministers and 10 Heads of Agencies, the stakeholders agreed as follows:
Welcomed the inter-ministerial approach to flood management in Nigeria since by its nature, Disaster management is a multi agency inter-ministerial undertaking.
Noted that Flooding is an annual occurrence with devastating consequences and which cannot be prevented as
a natural phenomenon in Nigeria but which can only be managed.
Identified seven existing national disaster management frameworks that could assist in developing a national flood preparedness and response plan.
Identified Inter-ministerial collaboration as necessary to drafting

@FMHDSD wishes to dissociate itself from a trending report in the media titled “N2.72b for School Feeding During Lockdown Diverted To Private Accounts”.
The report emanated after a presentation by
the Chairman of @ICPC_PE, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye at the 2nd National Summit on Diminishing Corruption and was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari, at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Monday.
The report states thus
“preliminary investigation
had indicated that part of the N2.67billion was diverted to private accounts. It also revealed that over N2.5 billion was misappropriated by a senior civil servant (name withheld) in the ministry of agriculture and now deceased, for himself and cronies”.
Hon Minister, @Sadiya_farouq has expressed deep sadness after a gas tanker exploded in Lagos, injuring over 50 persons and razing several buildings and vehicles.
The incident was said to have occurred on Thursday at Cele bus stop, Iju Ishaga
The Minister sympathized with the injured and those who lost their homes to the inferno.

after the explosion in Abule Ado in March.

Following the meeting held between HM @Sadiya_farouq , the Board of Trustees and the Two leaders of the Joint Association of Persons living with Disabilities, to broker peace
in the association, Ekaete Umoh emerged the President after the signing of a peace pact between the two leaders of the association.
The Minister who was represented by the Director Over Seeing the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ali Grema, at the meeting held in Abuja, has
reassured People Living With Disabilities that peace has returned to the Joint Association of Persons Living with Disabilities.
