1. CAMA 2020 contains all the ingredients of Draconian, Civil Rights Violations, State Censorship, Nepotism & Favoritism

Dr Charles Omole (one of this Govt’s anti-intellectualism writers, want you to believe you’ve been enjoying “tax free status,” so regulation & control is good
2. But listen to some of CAMA 2020 anti-democratic provisions:

Section 839 says the supervising Minister & CAC Registrar are both given the powers to register churches & NGOs.
3. The section also says that “in public interest,” the Registrar General or the Minister can suspend the Board of Trustees & appoint new trustees for churches. This is why Pastor Oyedepo is protesting, government cannot takeover the church.
4. Now it gets even more interesting. In Section 704, a particular body is written into the law & is unambiguously, unequivocally named as the preferred government-recognised body which insolvency practitioners must be registered with in order for them to practice.
5. The body I speak of, is a Public Limited Company (PLC). I am talking about no other company than the Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN).

This is a Private Company, limited by Guarantees, & owned by Abiodun Ismail Saka-Layonu (SAN).
6. Nigerians must know, Abiodun Ismail Saka-Layonu (SAN) sits on the board of Stabilini Visinoni, a civil engineering company, & Bi-Courtney Limited, who are the embattled concessionaire of MM2 Airport & the Lagos – Ibadan expressway.
7. It doesn’t end there. Abiodun Ismail Saka-Layonu (SAN) is a card carrying member of the APC & he contested in the 2018 Osun State guber election with the current Gov Gboyega Oyetola.
8. This makes total nonsense of the CAMA 2020.

Here’s the implication: “this Business Recovery and Insolvency Practitioners Association of Nigeria (BRIPAN) has taken over the section 704 of the CAMA 2020.”
9. The problem with this is that BRIPAN is not a government-recognised professional body like the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), established by an Act of Parliament.
10. BRIPAN, is in fact a private company limited by guarantees & was registered in 1994 as a non-profit.

Now here’s more: “BRIPAN is in the business of revenue-generation which includes sale of membership forms & organising membership trainings & Fellow workshops for N90,000
11. & N250,000 for each category

CAMA 2020 has taken the private business of Abiodun Ismail Saka-Layonu, who is an APC member & written it into law, effectively forcing people who intend to become insolvency practitioners in Nigeria to pay monies to this APC member’s non-profit.
12. These are ONLY a few of the reasons why the CAMA 2020 is a malicious deception, hogwash that must be re-engineered by removing those draconian & nepotism embellished sections of the bill.

Nigeria is NOT an “APC Public Limited Company.”
