/ @NatashaBertrand & @KenDilanianNBC: I found this paragraph in the new SSCI report on Russian meddling in the 2016 election to be quite interesting. The committee found on a bipartisan basis that Russia was meddling "to tarnish an expected Clinton presidential administration... Image
/ I have another interpretation of this that I'll discuss later. But this paragraph is important because it destroys the dubious finding in the a 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment that Russia meddled in the election TO HELP TRUMP WIN.
/ I have long argued that Russia, like the whole world in 2016, expected Clinton to win the 2016 election. It never made sense to argue that Russia thought it could change this outcome.
/ Contending that Russian meddled in the election to undermine a Clinton presidency or to hurt our democracy is plausible. The report failed to address other info discovered by @HouseIntelComm that Russia interfered in the election to help Clinton win. foxnews.com/opinion/house-…
/ There is other interesting info in the report that I will write about later. The most important: it closes the book on alleged collusion between the @realDonaldTrump campaign & Russia in its efforts to meddle in the election. We now know there is zero evidence of this.
