I don’t hate cars but I love what’s possible when you have less of them. 
I love kids being able to safely walk to school.
I love clean air.
I love hearing birds or having a normal conversation along a street.
I love dense, walkable communities built to a human scale.
I love sitting at a cafe and watching the world go by.
I love prosperous Black and brown neighborhoods not bulldozed to build freeways to the suburbs.
I love having a climate that provides habitat for human beings.
I love when streets provide public space: for gathering, protesting injustice, dining, or otherwise living one's life, without the imperative to move or store as many cars as possible.
I love walking in my neighborhood and wish doing so didn’t require constant hyper vigilance.
