By going on offense with impeachment, he will be knocked off balance and be forced to go on defense. And as the evidence piles up, he will face increasing pressure to resign by the building outrage of millions of people, a GOP that will face the cold hard fact that
Trump is an anchor, pulling them down. The GOP will be in disarray, in a panic that Mike Pence is suddenly their standard bearer.
It will be a crisis of leadership, and the Democratic Party will look more and more reliable and stable than a foundering GOP.
