So. Here is yet another public contract awarded to long time associates of Gove and Cummings without any tender process using the exceptional urgency procedure. 1/4 theguardian.com/education/2020…
They deny Gove was involved in the award but there is no specific denial that Cummings was involved in handing over public money to their associates.

There is also no good reason why they should refuse to say how much public money they have given to Gove/Cummings' pals. 2/
Why did they not hold a tender process before giving a contract to their pals? A Levels/GCSEs were cancelled in March so there was plenty of time for @Ofqual to hold a tender process before Public First started working there in June. What's the real reason? /3

On 9 July we wrote and on 10 July we issued proceedings against @michaelgove for unlawfully awarding a hugely lucrative contract to Public First, run by long time associates of his and the Blind Drivers.
We said the decision was unlawful because the legal preconditions to sidestepping normal procurement rules - that exist to protect public money - were not met. And because of 'apparent' bias, ie a reasonable person would think they were biased in favour of Public First.

Gavin Williamson says appeals against the grade you were awarded will be free. This may or may not be good politics but it's terribly misleading. Appeals may be free but they are also pretty much pointless. Image
The appeals system is set out here (from paragraph GQCov paragraph 5.1: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…) and the guidance on the appeals system can be seen here (assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/upl…).
You can't challenge your school/college on the grades or rank order it submitted. As the Guidance states "attempts to amend Centre Assessment Grades or rank order information by revisiting or revising the professional judgments which underpin them... is not permitted."
