Latest: Shivshankar Menon, Foreign Secretary & NSA in UPA govt., calling for US intervention in India's domestic policy.

One should therefore not be surprised at ancien régime loyalists like Shiv Shankar Menon. It runs in the family !

But imagine that this man, Menon, was Foreign Secretary between 2006-09 & NSA from 2010-14.

It was during Menon's terms that these terrorist incidents happened. One wonders if Menon was batting for Indian interests or USA interests after these attacks?

For example, after 26/11 did he give precedence to USA interests in Afghanistan or Indian demand for justice? 4/5

The SC judgement in #PrashantBhushan case has excellently parsed the difference between criticism of a judge as an individual (for which no contempt but private civil route exists) and the criticism in judicial capacity (for which contempt can and has been invoked). 1/3
So unlike anarchists claim, the SC has held that it is NOT holding #PrashantBhushan in contempt for bike comment (comment against CJI as in individual) but for patently FALSE statement against CJI (as judge) that SC is in lock-down when court is hearing thousands of cases. 2/3
Regards second tweet of #PrashantBhushan that SC has played a role in destroying democracy in last 6 years and last 4 CJIs had a special role - it is clearly not an attack on a judge or individual frailty but on the very SC institution itself. Classic case of contempt. 3/3

Role of Rahul Gandhi can be summarized thus: While in government (2004-14) they did everything in power to stall the acquisition unless they got their 'cut'.

While out of power, their tried their best to stall the acquisition because how dare they not get their 'cut' ! 2/5
Now we know that Rahul Gandhi personally signed a MoU with CCP in 2008.

During the 2004-14, the trade deficit with China was allowed to balloon from ~$1 Billion to ~$36 billion.

Was the deliberate stymieing of fighter planes deal also driven by extraneous considerations? 3/5
