1/ Ask yourself how a Chinese $tsla owner came to have access to cars driven elsewhere in the world. Then, if you're a Tesla owner, ask yourself how you feel about the most comprehensive autocracy in history having access to everything you do.
3/ I'm sure the incident discussed by @StultusVox was a glitch. No one intended for the cat to be out of the bag. If this becomes widely known, I expect emphatic assurances by Tesla that this was a one-off coding mistake.
