Effective communication:

Communicating is an important aspect of life, be it talking or writing or any other form of communication.

It depends on three factors: Knowledge that you have, how much you practice with that knowledge, and inherent talent.
You don't start a talk with a joke. People are usually putting away their phones, and are getting ready for the talk. They aren't ready for the joke yet. So, you start by telling them what they will know at the end of the hour that they didn't know at the beginning of the hour.
At any given moment, about 20% of your audience will be fogged out no matter what the talk is about. So, you structure your talk in such a way that you circle around to the core idea of the talk twice or thrice throughout the talk to make sure everyone gets it.
Build a fence around your idea to distinguish it from someone else's idea. For example, someone else's system may be following the trend and getting out at or near the top. And, your system may be following the trend and getting out when trail SL is hit. So, you differentiate.
Those who get fogged out occasionally throughout the talk, to bring them back on board, **ask a question** as you finish each part of the talk. The question shouldn't be too obvious (people will be embarrassed to say) and can't be too hard (then no one will answer).
Let's talk about time and place. The time must be at least 11am - which is when most people would have waken up and be alert enough to listen to you. If you take a webinar or a lecture or youtube live, teaching or talking about something - this is the most important.
Place: If physical location, it has to be well lit, like really well lit that it aids people to be alert. It also should be reasonably populated. If you're doing a webinar, make sure you're well lit and your background is not distracting.
On Slides & Presentation. No matter how you do your slides, there are always too many words on your slides. And, there are too many slides. You want your audience to listen to you and not read the slides. So, keep the core point on the slide and talk around it.
Remove the logo, unnecessary background, keep images simple. People have only one language processor - they can either use it to read stuff or listen to stuff. Not both at the same time. So, keep your slide content to very very minimal. Eliminate clutter and keep it simple.
Be inspiring. Those who exhibit passion for what they talk about and what they explain almost always manage to inspire the people who are willingly attending that talk. So, don't talk about what you're yourself not inspired and passionate about.
