Risks from loss of education (6 months now), mental health, parents working & educating at same time, abuse (which schools are trained to spot) etc etc

So far no infections in TH school, only 2 siblings infected at home, removed from school as soon as tested negative

Oktoberfest Millwall Park update (it really is dead)
TH Council were not going to allow Oktoberfest in Millwall Park this year due to damage caused to the pitches last year (this was before COVID anyway).
But the Police wanted to make sure and on 1st September the Councils

licensing committee will hear an application from the Police to revoke their license
The Police report justifying this is pretty graphic
Police report implies it is not just a management issue but that all such events not be allowed

Last November Newham Council rejected a proposed 5,000 home development with 14 reasons for rejection
Located opposite Trinity Buoy Wharf in Silvertown
Mayor Sadiq Khan then called it in & last week his Deputy approved it with some minor changes

Most of the 14 reasons for it to be rejected locally seem unresolved
Notably I have not seen any protests from local politicians who objected to Westferry Printworks being decided by central government against local wishes
But when the Mayor of London does the same, silence

Sadiq Khan has done this a number of times now (as has every Mayor of London)
It does mean that London authorities are conscious that the Mayor of London may over ride their decision which may make it less likely that they reject them
The scheme comes with a new DLR stn funded

Westferry Printworks update
Secretary of State has given 3 weeks to parties to respond to a number of questions
The questions are about things which changed after his decision letter 14th Jan so that evidence can be updated
Or parties can request re-opening inquiry
I had

assumed another inquiry (but as the last one cost circa £1 million) parties may prefer to avoid that & just submit written responses
So in theory unless parties object & representations in by 1st Sept, then decision could be made by other Minister later this year
I have asked

why letter does not name the Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Plan given that it now carries significant weight in planning applications and the Printworks is located in the Neighbourhood Plan area
