EMI moratorium: Reserve Bank (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has said that it is up to the banks to decide who has to give the loan moratorium (EMI moratorium) and who does not. The debt moratorium was then a temporary solution. 2/
He said that instead of moratorium,it is necessary to find a permanent solution. Along with this,the central bank gov Das also said that RBI has policy space. It is nt that interest rates will nt decrease further.Policy space will also be used when needed.

At the moment inflation is not a hindrance: The governor said that at the moment, there are no barriers to inflation. It is not right to comment on the situation ahead Reserve Bank takes decisions in view of many aspects. Inflation is not the only aspect. 6/
There is clarity on the policy in section 45ZA. A new Monetary Policy Committee will also be formed with three external members. The draft of the proposal has been decided carefully. Health of banks is very important for us. 7/

The proposed draft will apply only in the Corona crisis. The draft proposal will not be applicable in all cases. The government has taken several steps to provide relief to the borrowers. 10/
The government has also made many important decisions on real estate after discussions with bankers and experts. Many stranded businesses have been given relief. The government will take appropriate decision on disinvestment in public sector units. 11/
