Life is pretty heavy lately, and I've been struggling with remembering that I do the work I do because I think it's important.

In honor of #SundayBunday, a short thread about finding meaning, brought to you by my rabbit.

Here is my rabbit:
Since we moved here, his one true calling has been to get behind the washing machine, through a 2" crack.
I have so many pictures like that. I don't even take them any more because it happens pretty much every time we "let" him in there.
He does not fit in there. But he tries so hard.

How big is this rabbit?
Ok, he's not actually as big as a wind turbine. He's pretty big though. And he *keeps* trying to get back there.
He fits in lots of tiny spaces, but the washing machine crack is his Waterloo.
So, the story and moral part of this: yesterday, I go in there, and he follows me. Obviously, he's going to go for the washing machine hole.

Only, he doesn't. He nudges a basket, nudges me to pet him, and then kind of calmly leaves.
"Ah," I think to myself, wanting everything to be Meaningful, "I suppose I can take a lesson from this. Maybe it's ok to let the things that once felt really important, but futile, pass you by eventually."
Then I stepped into a spot where I can see him but he can't see me.

And wouldn't you know it, that exuberant little critter came RACING back in and tried to wedge himself behind the washing machine as soon as I "left."
And that is how my rabbit owned my attempt to let myself get into an emo hole.

So I guess my real lesson is: keep grindin' out there, but take a break sometimes.
