As a maker, it is important to be fast and execution is everything. You may have the best idea but if it is sitting in your mind they there is no use.
Here’s why you need to focus on doing and stop dwelling especially when you are working on a side project.
A thread 🧵
1/ Ideation - Don’t spend too much ideating. If the idea checks the below list then you are good:
1. Is the problem part of your routine and you love solving it 2. Is it relevant to the trends that are going on 3. Is your product adds value to people's life
2/ Pick a tool - A lot of people spend tons of time picking the best tool. Here's a harsh truth: nobody gives a rat’s ass about what tool you used, all they care is the value they are getting out of your product. So pick a tool that you are familiar with, takes you from 0 to 1.
3/ Design - Don’t make it beautiful but make it functional. Use illustrations from open-source designers like @pablostanley, pick a logo using @Namecheap and double down your focus on the workflows and make it work.
Remember, design is not how it looks but how it works.
4/ Copywriting - You need to narrate a story about why you are solving this problem. People listen to stories more than asks/favors. Make it short and simple. Be authentic and focus on why more than how. Write why should people care. Make an emotional connection.
5/ Logistics - It is essential to take care of some logistics like buying a domain name, setting twitter, writing intro tweet etc but don’t make it fancy. People have very little attention caring about these details. It is important but it should not slow you to build something.
6/ Ship and iterate - There is so much joy in shipping a product that adds value to others. You won there itself and everything is a bonus. Be open to hearing what people say. Listen to the feedback and start iterating. Your product gets better over time and you learn lessons.
That's it! Repeat and rinse. Attach to the process, detach from the results.

If you are struggling with being transparent on the Internet, use this 5-step framework that will help you form a habit of building in public and make it a second nature:
🌟 Promise
🌟Build
🌟 Tease
🌟 Deliver
🌟 Share
Let's get into it 🧵
🌟 Promise
Many founders skip this step and start right with building. It makes a hell lot of difference when you promise and deliver - you build trust and confidence with your audience.
It is scary but keeps you accountable and makes you legit in front of the world.
🌟 Build
Fundamentally a step where you need to be as transparent as possible - share prototypes, WIP screens, your ideas, brainstorm in public, and such.
Do it to establish a tight feedback loop, show you listen and involve the community directly.
I’m a big believer when it comes to building systems, and I still follow the same routines that I established after reading @JamesClear's Atomic Habits.
A thread on the routines I follow 🧵
1/ Do micro-actions with no expectations
Never underestimate the power of micro-actions. They may be small, easy to do but will have a lot of impact on your confidence. They fuel micro wins which fuel the doer mindset inside you. One condition: do them with no expectations.
2/ Show up and be consistent
You get what you want when you show up. Compound interest works like magic when you implement it. Be consistent no matter what, the results will knock your door.
