I love the roll call vote.

But this traditional format the GOP is using has aged terribly in just six days.

Also, surprising to me almost no one is trying to give some fun facts about their state. Just name-checking GOP candidates and officials.
Some credit so far to:

CT: for casting "28 spicy votes" for the Nutmeg State

DE: for wearing a tricorne hat while reading out votes.
Ok, this is getting a bit better.

MD alone mentioned olympians, Cal Ripken, Francis Scott Key and it's famous crabs.
Montana representative: We love to fish, we love to hunt and we have at least five guns in every home.

What is happening now? Leader Schumer raised a point of order that the impeachment articles themselves are unconstitutional - that they do not rise "high crimes or misdemeanors".

Senate is voting on that. No debate is warranted for this point of order in impeachment court.
Staff and senators are now huddling, seemingly to discuss the procedural mechanics, maybe options here. Note that Leader McConnell's staff is huddling with conservatives as McConnell listens from just outside the circle.
Prior to this interlude, Schumer offered Republicans the chance to vote on the trial structure and have debate.

- That would have teed up resolutions from Sens. Lee and Cruz.
- And allowed for likely 3 hours of debate altogether.
- But Sen. Schmitt objected.
- And here we are.

- Baltimore: The WH sent over a authorization request this morning for the bridge and port. That will need bipartisan support to move.

NEW: House has released another 5,000 hours of footage from J6. The prev. release was what Tucker Carlson got plus some cameras far from central areas.

Here is footage of a moment rioters broke through, on the East Front on J6. (The side we have seen less footage from.)

These were the folks I saw violently breaking through the giant brass doors of the Capitol.

One person I interviewed, immediately after they broke into the Capitol, told me they ran to the Capitol b/c police were firing rubber bullets.

He showed me a rubber bullet.

But this video it is clear backing of what USCP have said - the rioters were the absolute aggressors.

Hunter Biden transcript:

This is dense. Still going through it. Many detailed questions and answers.

But as I compile/sort out if anything is new here on Hunter, there are a number of exchanges about Hunter Biden's addiction that stand out.
Rep. Gaetz: Were you on drugs when you served on the Burisma board?

Hunter Biden: Mr Gaetz, look me in the eye. You think that's appropriate to ask me?

Gaetz: Absolutely.

Hunter Biden: Of all the people sitting around the table, you think that is appropriate to ask me? Image
Biden's attny repeatedly argued that qs about Hunter's drug + alcohol use were unrelated to the hearing.

The GOP disagreed and asked many times. The words "addict" or "addiction" are in the transcript 63 times.

Nearly as much as "Burisma" (86) and much more than "CEFC" (28).

Early on, Sen. McConnell tells the group something along lines of "no one supports Ukraine more than me. But we have to talk about the U.S. border."

He turns it over to Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., who makes his best pitch for GOP plan.
