“We’re seeing unprecedented fire danger and fire weather.” Says CSFD Chief Ted Collas. He says that adds to its necessity, even given the state fire ban.
Deputy fire warden Kevin Junglen says resourcing is becoming “minimal” at a national level because of fires both in Colorado and in California.
Collas says, while the CSFD is fully staffed, larger# fires around the state have stretched Colorado resources, along with the national response. Because of the i70 closure, he says the #GrizzlyCreekFire was the highest priority fire in the country.
Collas says, the dry conditions are severe right now. He says the conditions are similar to 2012–when the Waldo Canyon fire struck
