Why yes, quite shocking thst this trash board is acting like trash. 🙄
The Suarez issue has been an issue for like... 3 seasons? Give or take. He himself has said in interviews that Barça should probably buy a younger striker. Of course he believes he js able to compete with anyone, he's Luis Suarez, you don't do what he's done if you doubt yourself
But of course the idiots who run the club went into a massive tailspin about replacing Neymar and ignored the massive elephant in the room until it ruined the whole room.
Luis Suarez is a Barça legend, the club's third all time goal scorer and should be treated better at this point. But this board has never known decency or empathy and they're not about to start now when they're in deep crisis mode.
Of course all of this is ugly and demeaning and no one actually deserves it. Suarez didn't give himself this salary. He didn't play himself when he shouldn't have. People who were in he position to make decisions didn't have the balls (or backing) to make hard calls.
So, yeah, his time is over. It's been over for a while now. But he still deserves better. Hell, all of them do. Because the fault doesn't lie with them. It lies with the people that are above them and have fucked all of this up beyond any recognition.
Football players are always going to look out for their own interests. It's up to the people who run the club to look out for the club's best interest. Even if that occasionally implies upsetting players or not giving them everything they ask for.
But because these people have no idea how to run a club, have no actual project or sporting idea, they became endebted to the players who by winning kept things ticking along and the fans satisfied enough to not notice the massive issues.
And now we're here. With he biggest wage bill in all of sport, trying to get rid of people as fast as possible to keep afloat. With no tact, or decency or plan really. Just desperately throwing water out of the boat. It's all quite depressing.
