These "ads" were part of the Bush era transformation of voting, as the electronic systems were being put into place. They were horribly designed, paperless, easy to break into, and, remarkably, the companies then, as now, were owned by overt Republican donors & supporters.
These were perfect encapsulations of the issues that were happening re electronic voting.
A bit to much on the nose.

In 2016 there was voter fraud. Now again, 2020, Trump is threatening voter fraud again w electronic systems that remain subject to corruption.
So even though these images are in the context of the beginning of this transformation...they are as poignant now as then.
And the stakes... as high as they were then...are even moreso now.

There is no accountability. We must trust the systems, and the system developers. The privatization of the information of voting....
These systems have resisted paper backup from the beginning. Today w the demands of Covid, the mail in ballots threaten to bypass the electronic systems & provide that hard accountability.
It is old school. Paper ballots may help the country recover its voice, so we can be heard.
