The video that's gone viral shows pretty clearly that Rittenhouse shot two people in self-defense

But apparently there was a shooting before that, without any video/info on that it's impossible to say whether these charges are justified
That said it wouldn't be the first recent indictment of a prominent, viral shooting that was clear self-defense

Remember that the police officer who shot Rayshard Brooks was indicted for first-degree murder, even though Brooks stole the cop's taser and tried to shoot him with it
Update - there's a YouTube linked in this (very good) article that contains some video evidence of the circumstances of the first shooting, it's suggestive of self-defense but unclear

They state as fact that Kyle Rittenhouse violated the law

But then they cite a *lawyer who specializes in gun rights cases* who thinks an exception applies

Here's the relevant Wisconsin statute

It does say that "any person under 18 years of age who...goes armed with a dangerous weapon is guilty of a...misdemeanor."

But it has a number of exceptions, including one for minors who are carrying a rifle or shotgun—note subsection 3(c) Image

Powell tries to answer with rule 48(a), but Srinivasan wants to focus on the broader mandamus question
And Powell responds - no, she doesn't have a case at hand.

Srinivasan ask- well, if the District Court grants the motion to dismiss, wouldn't be "adequate alternate means" of getting the relief Flynn seeks?
