NEW: How did Trump Org. get paid $900K+ by U.S. taxpayers?
We have receipts with new details:
--Charges for rooms at Mar-a-Lago when Trump wasn't there.
--"Resort fees" for Secret Service agents guarding VP Pence.
--A $1,300 charge to move furniture.

Here’s the receipt for the “furniture removal:” Trump’s company charged taxpayers more than 1,000 British pounds — plus tax—to move furniture.

(And nobody would know about it, if we hadn’t sued the govt to get these records).
When VP Pence went to @realdonaldtrump’s Las Vegas hotel in 2017, the Secret Service rented 151 rooms over a wk.

Trump Org added “resort fees” to the agents’ bills: $29 per room, per night.

We’ve spent this year asking a simple question: How much money have US taxpayers paid to @realdonaldtrump’s private business.
We still have only a partial answer, b/c the government has released so few records.
Examples:
The @DeptofDefense spent $75K at Trump properties in his first 5 months alone.
What did they spend after that? We don’t know. This is the most recent record DoD has released. It’s from June 2017.
We asked DoD for more recent records in a FOIA request. That was 183 days ago. They have provided nothing.

So our most recent data on DoD payments to Trump properties dates back to the Sean Spicer Era.

Here’s a great example of how @realdonaldtrump’s campaign turns campaign donations into private revenue for POTUS.

In just 3 pages from their spending report, $222K+ went to Trump’s private business, to rent ballrooms for fundraisers.
Another case: In December 2019, @realdonaldtrump’s campaign paid Trump’s business $330,000 in just one day. By holding events at Trump properties, campaign donations are transformed into private revenue for POTUS.
I’m going thru these b/c I’m trying to figure out how much @realdonaldtrump’s company charged his campaign *per event*.

Problem is, there were so many events — and so many campaign payments to Trump Org — that it’s sometimes hard to tell which goes with which.
