1/ My thesis: stablecoins accelerate adoption of onchain financial applications.

No one wants to trade against arbitrarily priced assets (exception maybe BTC, or ETH).

@AcalaNetwork is building that key piece for the @Polkadot ecosystem.

2/ But @AcalaNetwork isn’t just a stablecoin.

They’ve also shipped a testnet lending protocol and dex, which you can test out here here.

3/ I’m fascinated by the implications of staking derivatives.

With PoS taking center stage, this will create new markets, new dynamics and new challenges.

@AcalaNetwork will be first to ship L-DOT, a fungible derivative of staked

4/ This allows additional use cases for while letting the asset remain staked for network security.

This is one of the newer financial primitives that more people will talk about and experiment with with ETH 2.0. Can’t wait to see how L-DOT trades 👀

Few thoughts on $MNT and why I'm long

TLDR 🧵

1/ Yesterday, @BitDAO_Official successfully migrated its token to @0xMantle, a new Layer 2.

Mid-curvers saw this as a "sell the news" event but objectively the migration represented a significant event that is now derisked.

2/ I've stood by my view that tech is necessary but not sufficient; distribution is king.

Despite the rebranding of $BIT to $MNT, @0xMantle is effectively @Bybit_Official's attempt at creating their BSC, but one that is more in line with Ethereum's L2-vision.

1/ On the episode, I asked @RealMiguelMorel why it took so long for @ArkhamIntel to rectify the issues regarding user's emails being publicized. Specifically, I brought up @NFTherder's claim about being able to tie emails to wallet addresses.

2/ Miguel cites that the claim has "never been verified", that images may be doctored and that "it is impossible to do so", "on Arkham and elsewhere on the Internet".

Given the responses I've gotten for this statement, I decided to fact check this.

1/ Now that the Merge + Shapella are completed, Ethereum's vision as a PoS network is realized.

To recap, there's 4 main ways holders can stake their $ETH today:

2/ Currently, Staking-as-a-Service, Pooled Staking and CEX's control majority of stake.

While some of these services are more decentralized than others (e.g. @Rocket_Pool vs. @LidoFinance ), client diversity remains a concern.
