One more observation about @KerryKennedyRFK 's statement: The litany of things she says JKR has done wrong starts on 6 June 2020 with the Wumben? tweet.

But JKR first tweeted about this issue on 19 Dec 2019.

(She received the RFK award on the 12th)

You can bet that the RFK people noticed in December.

I don't know, but I'm assuming they would have talked to her.

She may have talked about the issues and the fact that she was writing something... and they stood by her.
And when she published her essay on 10 June 2020, they didn't immediately condemn her. ... they stood by her.

I assume because they could see it was a nuanced and compassionate essay
They didn't betray her until 3 August 2020.

Presumably because they had come under some pressure they could no longer withstand.

It certainly wasn't because of some breakthrough in their analysis.

Or because they wanted anyone to hear what they had to say on it.
If JK Rowling had said something so heinous that the human rights community had to condemn her, they would have noticed it straight away.

They didn't. And if they had her integrity and her strength they would have stuck with that position.
They have taken down the video of her award acceptance speech

And taken 2019 out altogether

There remains an eerie silence from the human rights community on this.

If you think JK Rowling is an awful transphobe there is zero cost in saying so - apart from having to justify your view (and it would be the right thing for people with integrity to do)
If you think that what Rowling has written is nuanced and compassionate, and that there is a need for a better debate about how to reconcile women's rights and trans rights, you should say so.

It would be powerful and important (but it comes at some personal cost)
Saying nothing costs nothing (apart from personal conscience)

In the longer term it costs the integrity of the whole human rights project, as you look at each other and at your leaders and know that this is a movement of people who don't speak up for what is right when it counts

A bit more about International Gay Rugby, whose message Stonewall is endorsing....

They are tiny UK registered charity, with a budget of <£5K whose story starts "Six gay men meet at a pub in North London and agree to form a rugby club for gay and bisexual men."
Its interesting that their response to a call for contributions on this topic (all 120 of them) mainly came from the US
And mainly from women

It accused JK Rowling of misrepresenting facts, making unsubstantiated claims and spreading myths on account of how they say she misrepresented my case in not saying how I repeatedly misgendered a colleague.

Except she didn't.
