All you really need to know about Russiagate is that it began with unproven assertions by the US intelligence community and ended up facilitating pre-existing foreign policy agendas of the US intelligence community. Everything in between those two points is empty narrative fluff.
US intelligence agencies were worried that Trump would make good on his plans to make peace with Russia, when they'd just spent the Obama years preparing to ramp up aggressions with them. This was expected to continue under Clinton.

The screenshot above is from a 2016 John Pilger article. Because of Russiagate, the cold warriors were able to politically pressure Trump into continuing those escalations in the form of sanctions, shredded nuclear treaties, NATO expansionism etc.

Remember the heir apparent to the White House throne was in 2015 already freaking people out on both sides of the aisle with her dangerously hawkish posture against Russia. This was the posture that the US intelligence community was planning for.

So the Obama administration was putting more inertia on the cold war plans than the cold warriors would like, heir apparent Hillary looked ready to remove the brakes, then a vocally pro-detente noob wins, then unproven intel claims facilitate the exact same planned agenda.

Like I always say, you'll get a much clearer picture of what's going on if you just ignore all the narrative fluff and look at where the actual money, weapons, resources and people are moving. US intelligence wanted their new cold war, and they got it.

They received no mention because they were only ever really about distracting from the major flaws in the party and building the case for new cold war escalations.

The only interesting thing about either of the conventions held by America’s two mainstream political parties this month was not anything that was said by the interminable parade of vapid speakers, but rather what those speakers did not say.
Despite their dominating mainstream news cycles for years on end, at no time during the four-day Democratic National Convention was the word “impeachment” ever uttered, nor was any mention made of the Mueller investigation into allegations of collusion between Trump and Russia.

Forbes has published two back-to-back articles about the analysis of retired Navy captain and political scientist Bradford Dismukes titled “To Defeat China In War, Strangle Its Economy” and “If Russia Invades Europe, NATO Could Sweep The Seas Of Russian Merchant Ships”.
The articles were authored by a man named @Daxe, who is my new favorite small-time war propagandist because he’s so desperate to be recognized for his imperialist stenography that he often approaches his spin jobs in an informatively unskillful and ham-fisted way.
