Here is the absolutely ridiculous setup that I have built over the years.

In case it's interesting, this thread 🧵 goes over every single component that makes everything function.

👇
1. The Desk

This is probably the piece that I love the most. It is an Xdesk Vintage Porter that I bought three years ago and it's absolutely beautiful.

Yes, it is a standup desk.
Yes, I stand quite frequently during the day.

👇
2. The Chair

I use a Herman Miller Aeron Chair that I also bought three years ago. My model is Size B.

This is the best chair that I've used so far.

I've heard a lot about the Embody chair (also from Herman Miller) but I've never tried one.

👇
3. The Computer

I use a 2019 Mac Pro.

▫️16-Core Intel Xeon W
▫️160 GB 2933 MHz DDR4
▫️4 TB SSD
▫️Absolutely silent

Yes, this is overkill (minus the RAM and the SSD that I do use quite frequently for huge datasets.)

👇
4. The Displays

I have two of them:

▫️LG 49" LG49WL95CW
▫️Dell 27" Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q

I have the LG broken down into three separate "sections."

The 27" Dell helps me with content that I don't need to have in front of me all of the time.

Yes, 49" is really wide!

👇
5. The Stands

The LG is mounted on the stand that came with it in the box.

The Dell is mounted on a VIVO Single Monitor Desk Mount, Extra Tall (STAND-V001T). I'm using the grommet on the desk to mount it.

👇
6. The Keyboard

I have a Keychron K2 Mechanical Keyboard with Blue Switches.

These switches are the clickiest version they sell, and I can't imagine myself getting a different version. They are loud but lovely!

I also have the Keychron palm rest.

👇
7. The Mouse

It's a Logitech MX Master 3.

It's very comfortable (especially coming from the Apple Magic Mouse.) And has a lot of buttons and configuration settings that I will never touch in a million years.

Bonus: when I need to plug it, I can keep using it!

👇
8. The Speakers

I bought the Bose Companion 20 Multimedia Speaker System.

Great audio. It's a shame that I use headphones most of the time.

(I'm using the speakers right now to listen to @HamiltonMusical, just because this tweet reminded me.)

👇
9. The Headphones

A long time ago I bought a pair of B&O Beoplay H6 Headphones. They are amazing.

No, they aren't wireless, but I'm OK with that.

I use these headphones 99% of the time I'm sitting at the computer (hence 99% of my day.)

👇
10. The Microphone

It's a Rode Microphones PodMic Dynamic Podcasting Microphone with Integrated Swing Arm.

This is a relatively cheap microphone with incredible quality.

(This will come in handy soon.)

👇
11. The Network

I have the Mac wired to the network of the house (Gigabit ethernet). I have a NETGEAR 5-Port Switch next to the computer.

The WiFi mesh at home is Google Wifi. It's pretty decent.

👇
12. The Rest of the Accessories

▫️Zoom H6 (Audio Interface)
▫️CalDigit TS3 Plus Dock
▫️Satechi Eco-Leather Deskmate
▫️Philips Hue Play Smart Light (Behind the display)
▫️CyberPower UPS
▫️BenQ ScreenBar
▫️Grovemade Walnut Headphone Stand
▫️A buttload of cables

👇
A few notes:

1. Yes, I realize this setup is overkill for most of my needs.

2. I've been working on this setup over the last 10 years.

3. I spend a lot of time every day sitting here, so I've made sure it is as comfortable as possible.

How does your setup look like?
