Westferry Circus underground section blocked by Police before tunnel runners arrive later
Can still get through on above ground section via ramps up to CW estate but best to avoid
If you use underground car parks best to approach via Hertsmere road
Looks like tunnel run organisers got the message about Westferry being closed tonight
They normally start at a static location before tunnel running later in night
But both B&Q Greenwich & then B&Q Beckton car parks contained @metpoliceuk officers turning them away

They are also being heavily spammed on their spammed on their FB page from overseas FB accounts

They need to work with authorities to find a compromise location that works for all & stop tunnel running element of their programme

New on-street parking restriction start today but for the first month no fines will be issued.
If your permit is for Mini-Zone D2 then you can only park all day in Mini-Zone D2, see map. You can only park in all other zones and mini-zones for a maximum of 3 hours from today.

Previously you could park in Mini-Zone D1 & D2 all day as combined to form Zone D.
The petition to debate this change properly has 1,887 signatures so far, it needs 2,000 to force a debate at the next Council meeting on parking.

There are still a number of unanswered questions about how this works and I think if you live in the north-western section of the Borough it means not enough parking spaces for those with permits to park, will explain why later.

Westferry Printworks update
Today is the deadline for responses to the Secretary of State request for responses on new information that should be considered since the original decision on the 14th January (now quashed).
Last week Richard Desmond confirmed that he would pay

the CIL, which they calculate at £43 million but would NOT change the affordable housing % back up to 35% but would leave it at 21%. The policy requirement is 35%.
The GLA have asked for a short extension as so many people on holiday last week.

The London Tunnel runs are in their 8th year & for the 1st time the @metpoliceuk were ready & organised for them last night
The tunnel runners FB comments last night were a mixture of confusion, doubt & spamming from other people trying to profit from the event
At all of the

officially announced starting points they found the Police waiting for them, that plus the disappearance from social media of the organisers at key times meant the runners ended up all over London
They did not have the fun they had been hoping for
We will need to be organised
2/
next year & aware of smaller events organised by other people
+ hope they organise legal static car meet working with authorities rather then trying to organise illegal & dangerous tunnel rides through London
But thanks to @metpoliceuk & @MPSTowerHam for work last night
