1/1 This study incorporated AF ablation as an option in the rhythm control strategy, & treatment started soon after diagnosis of AF
About 40% of patients had their first AF episode at the time of randomization, & the median time from diagnosis to randomization was just 36 days.
- Also most of the CVS complications occur during first year of AF and early treatment would have led to lower complications due to AF.
About 8% in rhythm control went for AF ablation. Whether this led to good outcomes?
- The commonest drug used in this trial for rhythm control was Flecainide (36%), followed by amiodarone and dronedarone
