This is a High alert for Residents of Delhi or ones travelling to Delhi regularly, as challans worth several thousands r getting accumulated in one's name & people don't have the slightest of hint at all.Please read the whole thread to understand better.
Delhi traffic police has installed Speed Cameras at various key locations accross Delhi, which supposedly is a very good move aiming at regulating driving behaviour.
But the Traffic challans getting generated on its portal are not getting intimated to the violators.

Neither the violators are receiving any physical copies of the challan nor any notification is given to them on their registered mobile numbers available with the department. Some of these challans are as old as One Year.
During an informal discussion in family in same context, out of curiosity I checked my vehicle records & to my utter shock, about 19 such challans running into 35k were pending in my name & which were as old as last one year & most of them sent to courts for adjudication.
When I informed other near & dear ones, it was the same case with most & my partner had 35 challans(70k) pending against him.Shockingly even after Dept having our mobile nos in their records, through which we fetched these pending challans, no notification was ever sent to us.
Although most challans are breaching speed limits with marginal values, but had these challans been notified to us timely, we could have made course correction & changed our driving pattern for sure. This certainly seems to be a deliberate act of dept to keep people in dark.
A system of reforms must not just focus on filling treasury by imposing repeated challans but must create awareness,educate the violator & give opportunity to reform. Here it is a systemic failure where challans are being imposed but no information is being provided to violators.
Whether it is a deliberate act of @dtptraffic to conceal these challans with public is matter of deliberation, but this is to make everyone aware of unethical approach of department in duping public at large.END.
