While the Data Studio team is busy improving the product, I am exploring how to enhance GDS in terms of visualizations.

Google Data Studio did not stop revealing new features. A long awaited geo chart was added late in the month: Filled areas in Google Maps:

Speaking about maps and getting your story across:

The r42 chart library was extended by another chart, the map slideshow. Not that easy to setup, but the result is very convincing.

You may not know, but many data visualizations or entire visualization frameworks like Vega and Vega Lite are based on one single library, D3.

Also late August, version 6 of D3 was released.

Parameter support for visualizations? Maybe...

But one thing is sure... I am working on a series of tree visualizations and the site tree should be released within the next 30 days.
