It is beyond me how any person could think that this man who is senselessly beating those he is sworn to protect and serve should also be who we send to those in a mental health crisis, domestic violence situations, sexual assaults, or even a traffic violation.
It is no wonder why so many people want to defund the police. Because even if a person thinks there is a reasonable purpose for policing, it is hard for anyone to believe it should be men like this who could be fulfilling that purpose. Yet this is who they are.
When not one person, including this mans boss, believes there will be any accountability for these actions; it is no wonder that many in our society do not trust this institution to do anything of value.
So when you laugh at people who want to defund the police and say “well then who are you going to call when you need help” just know what they are thinking is, “not that guy or any of his friends who watched him do that!” Because what could be worse?
