Gaurav apparently wanted to become an actor. After getting bit parts here and there, he realised ki uski daal nahi gal rahi. So he wanted to look for another career. For this he decided to learn flying, and went to pilot school in the USA.

Now here is the point where his life took an unexpected turn. The house where was was staying in with his friends in Texas (IIRC), was apparently haunted. Like objects used to be moved, people used to hear whispering, and sometimes even full apparitions could be seen!

Now ghosts and paranormal etc was not even on the radar for Gaurav. He didnt even think about these things before that. But when the happenings in his house went beyond explanation he began observing it intently.

Normally people would become scared. I know I would! But for Gaurav all this was fascinating! He started studying the phenomenon scientifically, like a skeptic. But it enthralled him no end.

He even was one of the hosts for a paranormal investigation shows in Australia. He was known to be very brave, and often went into places and nooks where no one would ever dare to go.

Then one day, he started mentioning something to his parents, father primarily...he said that he was feeling an evil presence. He had angered something. Some entity that was very powerful, and he felt like it was always watching him.

After chatting with his family and wife, he just went to the bathroom for a quick shower. After a while the family sitting outside heard a soft "thud". They ignored it for a few mins, but then his wife thought, let me just check anyway.

She called out from outside the bathroom but there was no response. she banged on the door. again no response. Panic stricken she rushed to call her father in law. He too tried to knock on the door, call out to him, but to no avail.

Finally they managed to force the door open, only to the shocking sight of Gaurav lying on the ground gasping for breath! QUick calls were made to doctors, ambulance, etc and Gaurav was shifted post haste to a hospital.

Unfortunately Gaurav did not survive and his cause was adjudged as asphyxiation, ie suffocated to death. Here is the interesting thing. Around Gaurav's neck there was a 360 degree black line about the width of a hair, or maybe a bit thicker.

The police declared the death to be suicide IIRC, but there was no evidence of it. As in he wasnt found hanging, nor was there any rope seen in the bathroom or any place the noose could have been put. there was absolutely no evidence of hanging.

So the death remains a mystery. Was it really a hanging? If so why was no other evidence found? What was the unexplained black ring around his neck? What was the entity that Gaurav had angered? Why was it after him? His passing was a loss to paranormal research and
