#TrumpHatesVeterans The Atlantic recently surfaced comments from Trump calling fallen U.S. soldiers ‘losers.’ The article reports that in 2018, when Trump cancelled a visit to honor American soldiers who died in World War I because of rain,
he reportedly said, ‘Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.’ Trump condemned those who believe The Atlantic’s report as ‘lowlifes’ and ‘liars.’ He also took to Twitter to defend his controversial response to the death of war hero and POW Sen. John McCain.
Trump tweeted that he never called McCain a ‘loser,’ even though he himself tweeted a blog that quoted him doing so in 2015, the same year he attacked McCain by saying ‘I like people who weren’t captured.’

Leaving the ECHR is not a good choice for the vast majority of UK citizens. Here’s why, in plain terms:The ECHR protects you, not just migrants. Most successful cases at Strasbourg are brought by British citizens against the UK government (police brutality,
prison conditions, unfair trials, phone hacking, care home abuses, wrongful detention, etc.).
Only a tiny fraction of deportation cases are actually stopped by the ECHR (fewer than 1 in 200 Rule 39 injunctions relate to Rwanda-style flights). The “stop the boats”
argument is largely a myth.
Leaving would remove the last independent backstop if a future UK government (of any party) decides to erode rights. Once you’re out, you can’t just be ignored or repealed with 50% + 1 in Parliament.

Tommy Robinson: A Manufactured Rebel with Powerful Friends
Tommy Robinson is sold as the streetwise voice of ordinary Britain, a man supposedly standing up against the establishment. Yet his rise was anything but grassroots. The English Defence League (EDL), which he co-founded
in 2009, did not spring from working-class frustration alone. Evidence suggests it was shaped and steered by bigger interests, making Robinson less a rebel and more a manufactured figurehead.
Nick Griffin, then leader of the British National Party (BNP), revealed in 2013 that his
party had been approached back in 2007 by American neoconservatives with a lucrative offer. The deal was blunt. Drop antisemitism, stop attacking the banking system, and focus all energy on Muslims. Griffin claims he refused, and within two years Robinson’s EDL emerged pushing

What are charter cities? They are privately owned and operated cities where everything from health care, education, and the police force to the legislature and the judicial system are not controlled by the state but by a private corporation accountable only to itself.
The corporation sets the rules and enforces them with its privately owned judicial system. The drive to leave the EU was to get away from the regulations it insisted upon to protect citizens and from international law.
Sunak is a keen disciple and was spearheading the charter cities plan for the UK. The idea comes from the USA where it is being pushed by the Heritage Foundation, Charles Koch, and hedge-fund guru Robert Mercer, all billionaires or pressure groups for billionaires.

Here’s the list of Tory MPs due to step down at the next election:
George Eustice, 51. Majority in Camborne and Redruth: 8,700. Former Environment Secretary, a role which he described as his "dream job".
He was elected in 2010 and is stepping down as he wants "the opportunity to do a final career outside politics".

Mark Pawsey, 65. Majority in Rugby: 13,447. Senior backbencher who served as a private secretary in the Business Department.
First elected in 2010 but stepping down after a "great deal of consideration".

Sajid Javid, 52. Majority in Bromsgrove: 23,106. Former Cabinet Minister, who has had a string of top Govt jobs, became the first Tory big beast to announce plans to quit. He said he had "wrestled"

It is 28 years since I set up the Committee on Standards in Public Life.
Standards in Public Life are governed by Law and convention. In practice, “conventions” are unwritten laws. They can’t be ignored without damage.
But they have been.
The whole country knows the litany.
The Government has broken the law; unlawfully tried to prorogue Parliament; ignored a nationwide lockdown by breaking its own laws in Downing Street; and tried to change Parliamentary rules to protect one of its own.
This is not an inclusive list. The damage is widespread.
In the four countries of our United Kingdom we take democracy for granted. We shouldn’t.
It is in retreat around the world.
