Here’s the thing that seems to be getting lost:
We (the left, anti-fascists, people of conscience, honest reporters and commentators, the international community...) need to understand that there’s a connection between Trump tweeting a call against a specific person...
...and that person’s extralegal execution taking place within minutes or hours of this, followed up by Trump tweeting a general threat to the left is exactly what it appears to be.
People have been successfully and accurately prosecuted for genocide in Rawanda and The Balkans etc on the basis of near-identical mechanisms. At Nuremberg as well. The coordination is open.
There may well be more details, or not, but that kind of revelation typically has been arrived at only decades later (eg truth and reconciliation commission or cointelpro doc release.)
It isn’t required for the coordination to work, or for us to understand the political situation we are actually in.
It’s been open war for a while now in Portland, and not just in Portland. Our enemies are on the offensive. It’s hard to look at, and they are creating reasons to look away, but it has to be faced one way or another. We need eachother to do that.
