Well, we could not possibly have been lost, someone found this spot before, and left a marker. The deer kept the trail open, it was really just a survey line cut out years ago.
Still haven't found the lake, but we are going again soon, on another route. I'll #thread the 1st part A rough white post, about 5 inches square, chiseled letters
I heard about a private road (used by ATVs) that ran off out-of-view of the highway, so we started this #Hiking trip from there. This was the easiest walking area. There's a lot more to see in trails than have been recorded or shared. #WAYCTV DESTINATION: google.com/maps/@44.96207… Typical two rut private logging road. The trail wasn't always this easy to walk, the road narrowed to the sudden dead-end, and we guessed what looked like a deer or human trail to follow about 2kms in.

@wood_brwood333 , looked man-made. Lucky find, my wife missed it, but I see things that distract me, and I heard frogs, then looked for turtles. Saw neither in the pond. Looking through trees, there is a light blue spot (water) in
Way back, past the difficult spots to even walk on (huge ruts and overgrown areas) it looked like we hit a main route but it was a gravelly turning area for trucks that reached the end of the narrow road, to turn back. We will #hike on, because DOH! no lake yet wide gravel road very big from the route we were on to get t
In a long #thread, from a PC, Twitter has dropped all my posts and photos at about 40 minute mark. I might want to send this before I lose it, and add to the end to finish the trail story. I'll try going on. WOW! after barely passable by ATV, we have a gravel highway again!
OK, that was a long run, but now we are on the #Trail-trail , none of that silly gravel road for us. Checks compass. Yup, the lake is about 2 kms ahead.. somewhere? @Ankian4 This is our *walk in the woods* portion
Sometimes it was hard to find the trail we think the deer was leaving us, assuming he was headed our way? I took photos of some of the landmarks, to find our way back later.
