2/ Way back in 2020 the secretive world of #Mindgeek exploded after a #NYT investigation ‘the children of #Pornhub’ which accused #Pornhub of doing little to prevent videos that showed sex-trafficked girls, unconscious women being raped, sexual assault and child sexual abuse.

The NYT expose was triggered by a BBC investigation - ‘I was raped at 14, and the video ended up on a porn site [#Pornhub]’ (bbc.co.uk/news/stories-5…).

In 2022, VISA & Mastercard purportedly ‘cut off’ #MindGeek access to ad network credit & debit card processing (cnbc.com/2022/08/04/vis…).

In August 2022, U.S. District Court Judge ‘Cormac Carney’ reportedly described #MindGeek as a “known alleged criminal entity” that ‘intentionally throttled content moderation because illegal content was good for business’ (thelogic.co/commentary/que…)

In 03/2023, #Aylo, (then named #MindGeek) was ‘sold’ to notionally Canadian private equity op ‘Ethical Capital Partners’ #ECP (ft.com/content/69c329…).

In 12/2023 #Pornhub’s parent company [#Aylo, fka #MindGeek] admitted to receiving proceeds of sex trafficking and agreed to a deferred prosecution agreement which included a $1.8bn fine and a three-year monitor [justice.gov/usao-edny/pr/p…]
3/ Ad/affiliate networks & payment processors (now crypto exchanges as well) & associated banks/#Emoney ops are the fuel without which porn sites cannot be monetised - but it’s not just online porn that rely on this ad/affiliate network & payment processor ‘fuel’, so do for example ‘online cannabis’ ops & scams.

All roads invariably lead to London, exposed for example in the #Wirecard scandal, ‘Consett formation factory’ and Bloomberg’s looksie under the hood of #Checkout[.]com.Image
