Getting feedback & advice is so important

It can help:
- Uncover blind spots
- Improve our ideas
- Unlock new avenues for growth
- Help us get unstuck when we run into roadblocks

Yet we don't do it enough

More below 👇
Why don't more people ask for help?

- Not sure how to
- Not sure who to ask
- Feel like friends might not give the best advice
- Don't want to spend too much on professional help for small problems
- Feel like they're troubling others with their requests
It's time to break that fear.
It's time to stop worrying and start asking for honest, actionable feedback.

That's why we built @pheedbackco! :)

It's a safe space for makers/solo founders/creators to get advice from one another via video calls. It's free.
Today our first emails went out to a group of helpful, driven makers.

Myself and @pabloheredia24 will be spending time reviewing their ideas and chatting with them to learn more about what they do.

Good old customer development.

@makerpad's #t30 challenge is well underway
If you're keen to spend 30 minutes chatting with either of us, we'll do Pheedback beta:

1. 15 minutes giving you feedback on your project
2. 15 minutes asking you some questions to help us shape the future of Pheedback

Working on side projects changed my life's trajectory.

Everyone can start one to create their own luck, just like I have with mine.

Here's why I think they're important:
1/ Side projects are an incredible learning vehicle

Most knowledge is internalized through experience. You'll probably learn a lot better through reading or watching something, then practicing it, than just being stuck in the theory stage.

They enable you to learn by doing.
2/ Side projects help you get hands-on with your passions

You get to work on things you truly love and create stuff you're really passionate about.

Good website copy makes you money.

How do you ensure that you've communicated well?

Use the value, clarity & credibility test:
Check each statement for value, clarity and credibility as you go through the copy.
Value

It should be clear how your product/service can help provide benefit for the user.

For example, make it stupidly obvious how $50 spent can help them generate > $500 in value.

Increase the odds of people sharing your work by implementing easy "click to share" links.

Take the friction out of the process by creating pre-filled tweets for them.

How to do it for free:
1. Go to sharelinkgenerator.com

Type in the words you'd like your customers / readers to share in the text box Image
2. Click "Create the link"

Copy the URL part and link it to a phrase inside your product or newsletter, e.g. "Click here to share" Image

A wantrepreneur is someone who would like to start a business and thinks and talks about doing so, but never gets started.

Don't be a wantrepreneur. Be an entrepreneur.

Here are a few things that differentiate the two:
An entrepreneur builds a specific audience to serve

A wantrepreneur shouts randomly, and assumes customers will find his/her product
An entrepreneur invests in himself/herself (tools, mentors, coaches & guides) and constantly learns

A wantrepreneur does not invest in himself/herself, and tends to gravitate towards downloading a lot of free stuff, but ends up dabbling or not commiting seriously to anything

Validate ideas before throwing insane amounts of resources into them.

If you're building a for-profit business or product that requires significant upfront investment, make sure you validate your idea.

How?
1. Pre-sales

Throw up a quick landing page and collect pre-payments for your idea.

If people are willing to put up cash for your product, it means that they truly value it. I always prefer pre-sales to waiting lists.
2. How do you build a quick landing page?

Use the tools available on @gumroad, or @carrd to do it.

Now, you can even use @stripe's Payment Links to collect payment.
