Thread about Florida. Trump MUST win Florida, period. No model has him losing Florida and winning 270 electoral votes. None. And if Biden wins Floria by enough for the networks to call it for him election night, Democracy is saved. On Nov. 3! So what can we all do? Read on.

Florida mandates that the counting of absentee ballots start 22 days before the election. They could likely all be tabulated and released to the public within an hour or so of the polls closing at 7 p.m. ET. So how do we help make those Biden votes?

Write letters via Vote Forward. Letter writing works, and it's super easy. Go here to write.

After you're done writing letters, please give to the Florida Democratic Party! Remember, Obama won Florida twice. Biden can win it November 3. Go here to help with anything you can.

Again, do not say Biden can't win Florida. Obama won it twice, and the numbers suggest Biden can too. Most critical is to raise support in the Hispanic community. Act Blue is on it. Help them out please. Wake up Nov 4 knowing you did EVERYTHING you can.

I had to have a D&C at 17 weeks when the heartbeat stopped. It was emotionally excruciating. But I didn't have to worry about dying or losing my reproductive health because my doctor didn't have to worry about being arrested if I wasn't close enough to death (1/...)

One in 5 pregnancies miscarry in the first 12 weeks. That's how lives are endangered in an abortion ban state where women may have to be near death before getting a D&C. And this doesn't even include ectopic pregnancies. That's what "leaving it to the states" did. /2

That doctors can't practice and women can't count on healthcare, that they can and will die or lose the ability to have future children... is horrific. Check your registration, and please vote blue across the board. For your daughter, granddaughter, female friends... for America.

Tried some other sites. Counter Social is too busy (even in "ostrich mode"), not eye friendly and you have to pay to send DMs. GREAT people I admire have gone to Mastodon, but it's still confusing to too many & has a culture obsessed with content warnings... 1/

Tribel's ToS is concerning, so I won't join. Today I joined Post - very promising but beta early days. I'm hopeful something will emerge w/ Twitter simplicity (and all that's good here) but without a billionaire red-pilled narcissist who seems inept at running a site. What say u?

To add: I'm not leaving Twitter until it's gone. Please don't ask me to join Tribel - I said why I won't. And yes, I am following the CW rules and ignoring the CW obsessed "culture," but just knowing it's there is annoying. And again the servers and search confuse so many friends

Counter Social, since right now you seem to be in the lead, PLEASE make your site less busy, more intuitive. If people who've used social media for years without ANY assistance suddenly need to "ask for help" or read a "user guide," something is wrong. Not Ready For Prime Time.

A thread. First and most important, even if you live in a state where abortion is still legal, Congress can pass a federal law that would regulate abortion nationwide and take priority over any conflicting state laws. The GOP has already stated THIS is their plan...

On the pro-choice side, in October 2021, the House passed the Women’s Health Protection Act (H.R.3755), which protects abortion nationwide and expressly overrides conflicting state laws, but a similar law (S.4132) stalled in the Senate earlier this year...

On the Christo-fascist side, in January 2021 Republican Senators introduced the “Life at Conception Act” (S.99), and some anti-abortion politicians and activists are pushing for a nationwide abortion ban...

I'm going to do it. I'm going to watch the #catsmovie. For as long as I can. Oddly my cat is facing the TV.

The cats' fur isn't very furry. The fur is the best thing about a cat. Well, one of them. Some of them look like dry seals. The second best thing is their noses. And yet these cats have human noses. Why? I may not make it very far.
